Meet a Koenigsegg Regera:
A VW Golf Twin Drive concept:
And a Honda Accord hybrid:
These have something in common, or rather they are all without something which we take for granted in a car.

I know the Regera doesn't have a gearbox (either that or it's just not a typical gearbox), but I'd be surprised if this applied to the Accord since Honda's hybrid systems still use gearboxes, as far as I know.

You’re right, it’s a hydraulic coupling instead, but I’m damn sure the Golf and Honda don’t have it.

“something which we take for granted in a car.”
They all have tires?
